About the position of Underwriter:

We have a new opportunity for a Lending Underwriter & Packager base in Rotherham to ensure lending applications are processed accurately, efficiently, and in line with company standards. You’ll be responsible for both underwriting and packaging 1st and 2nd charge lending applications, liaising with brokers and customers, and maintaining the highest levels of integrity and customer service.

Responsibilities for the position of Underwriter:

• Process and package 1st and 2nd charge lending applications in line with agreed criteria.
• Complete DIPs, administrative tasks and system checks accurately and within required timescales.
• Order valuations and liaise with brokers and customers to resolve queries and obtain outstanding information.
• Provide timely case updates to brokers via phone, email and letter, in line with SLA requirements.
• Manage and prioritise daily workloads, keeping accurate records of case progression.
• Handle referrals for new lending where required.
• Deliver consistently high standards of customer service, demonstrating integrity, accuracy and attention to detail.

Experience required for the position of Underwriter:

• Experience in lending underwriting or packaging (desirable).
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong customer service focus.
• Flexible, adaptable and a collaborative team player.
