Job Title: Mortgage Processor

Location: Ipswich Hybrid WFH 1 day a week

Salary: Up to £29,000

Hours: Monday to Friday 9 am to 5:30 pm

About the Role:

We are recruiting for a Mortgage Processor in the New Lending team. In this role you will maintain a pipeline of mortgage applications, to ensure that Lenders’ and Underwriters’ requirements are met, enabling cases to progress through to completion promptly.

A good understanding of the Buy to Let Sector and a good understanding of the mortgage process will be required.


  • Understand the terms and conditions of a Buy to let loan
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of client lending policies and application requirements for each lender
  • Liaise with solicitors and third parties to ensure loan conditions and documentation requirements are fulfilled
  • Ensure information relating to borrowers and their loans is current and accurately recorded on internal systems
  • Receive and resolve loan completion enquiries from solicitors
  • Liaise professionally with third parties
  • Identify, recommend and implement enhancements to processes and procedures
  • Ensure the relevant original post-completion documentation is obtained in line with the current process
  • Ensure SLAs are met for post-completion documentation received
  • All tasks to be completed following current mortgage regulations
  • Understand the underwriting process to minimize risk
  • Ensure that all processing criteria are met and that all documentation received is accurate.
  • Ensure that procedures reflect current practices. Report any required amendments to the Completions Manager

Experience required:

  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Good quality of written and verbal communication
  • Ability and willingness to see a task through to completion
  • Customer-focused – identify effective solutions for borrowers, internal clients and external client
  • Knowledge of the applicable regulations/codes governing the financial services industry
  • Some understanding of BTL mortgages
  • Some understanding of the mortgage application process
  • Ability to prioritise your work daily to meet deadlines
