Job Title: Mortgage Administrator

Location: Hertfordshire

Salary: Up to £27,000

Hours: Monday to Friday 9 am to 5.30 pm

About the position of Mortgage Administrator:

This is a great opportunity to start your journey toward becoming a Mortgage Underwriter. Join a leading specialist lender as part of their residential mortgage underwriting team, working as a Case Manager responsible for mortgage administration throughout the underwriting process.

Responsibilities for the position of Mortgage Administrator:

  • Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to progress mortgage cases to completion.
  • Monitor document expirations and offers to ensure timely action.
  • Maintain accurate records and management information across all systems.
  • Ensure all mortgage conditions are met before case completion.
  • Collaborate closely with the underwriting team to manage post-offer caseloads.
  • Process incoming completion documentation via email, post, and other channels.
  • Create and maintain digital application files, ensuring all documentation is correct and stored properly.
  • Instruct solicitors to act on behalf of West One in transactions.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on other underwriters’ cases.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for incoming calls to the team.
  • Return original documents to clients as required.

Experience and skills required for the role of Mortgage Administrator:

  • Experience in secured lending, mortgage administration, or a related sector.
  • Understanding of the mortgage underwriting process.
  • Previous experience managing a caseload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong administrative skills with attention to detail.
  • Experience providing excellent customer service and acting as a key point of contact.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
