Job Title: Credit Operations Officer

Location: Based 2-3 days per week in the Hertfordshire Office. It is expected to be office based during the first 2 weeks

Salary: Confirmed on Application

Hours: Monday to Friday 9 am to 5pm

About the role:

They have new and exciting opportunities for 2 Credit Operations Officers to join their fast-paced Operations team. You will be responsible for progressing Commercial Real Estate loans from approval through to completion, whilst ensuring a great service is delivered to customers.

The successful candidates will ideally have knowledge of Credit Operations activities. We can also consider candidates who have gained experience in dealing with secured loan transactions within a secured lending environment, have strong analytical skills and be a team player, with a collaborative style to work across all areas of the business. You will have worked in an FCA and PRA regulated environment, most likely in a small institution, and be able to implement regulatory standards as they evolve. Our client is happy to also review bright Graduates who are keen to learn.


  • Instruct the appropriate professional advisors to provide due diligence for loan transactions
  • Manage and monitor SLA’s for the professional advisors
  • Ensure that all post-sanction Terms and Conditions of the loans are met pre-drawdown
  • Detailed research and investigation of individual lending applications, ensuring all risks are identified
  • Identification of policy or protocol exceptions, with suitable recommendations of any remedial actions required
  • Ensure that all post-sanction administration procedures are timely and compliant with Bank’s policies and procedures including the maintenance of appropriate MI
  • Maintain good working relationships with all legal and valuer panel partners to ensure smooth and timely exchange of correspondence and communication
  • Consistently demonstrate and evidence delivery of the bank’s brand values and behaviours
  • Review documentation provided by solicitors and valuers with a view to ensuring that any proposed security is acceptable to the Bank
  • Liaise with Business Development Managers, Brokers and panel partners to monitor and drive completion of loans within the Bank’s preferred timescales
  • Ensure that all post-drawdown Terms and Conditions are monitored and met

Experience required:

  • Experience gained within a similar Credit Operations role is desired
  • Experience in reviewing valuation reports, liaising with solicitors and signing off loan applications is desired.
  • Experience within Commercial Real Estate would be advantageous.
  • Can also consider experience gained within secured loans.
  • Experience gained within Banking/Financial Services/FCA Regulated environment with a transferrable skillset and a keen interest to develop career can also be considered.
  • We can also consider bright Graduates looking to develop a career in the lending space.
