Job Title: Loan Servicing Officer

Location: London, Liverpool Street

Salary: Up to £40,000 pro rata

Hours: Monday to Friday 9am – 5.30pm

Contract: 6 month Fixed Term

About the role

We have a great new vacancy based in the City for a Loan Servicing Officer for our client who are a Specialist Commercial Bank. The primary purpose of this role is to support the servicing and management of Specialist Mortgages. The Specialist Mortgages department undertakes lending in the following asset classes: Buy-to-let including HMO’s, Semi Commercial, and Short-Term Loans. The individual will be responsible for ensuring that loan status and performance is tracked on a regular basis, first point of contact for existing customers and that all issues are addressed in a timely and appropriate manner.

Responsibilities and Experience required for the role of Loan Servicing Officer

  • Oversight and management of new loans added to the company’s loan books
  • Support the daily processing and execution of routine and non-routine transactions related to mortgage payment processing including redemptions
  • First line in responding to customer or other 3rd party inquiries by telephone, letter or email
  • Update and document loan history on the company’s databases and systems
  • Researching and/or preparing documentation
  • Analysing requests in accordance with established guidelines and determining appropriate course of action
  • Liaise with borrowers and 3rd parties regarding repayment of the debt within agreed timeframes
  • Recommend appropriate loan restructuring where appropriate and prepare amendment credit memos
  • To deliver good customer outcomes and demonstrate behaviours that will positively impact customers. Proactively champion fair customer outcomes for all customers.
  • To understand the Bank’s Risk Management Framework, and comply with the frameworks, policies and operating procedures which support it as they apply to your role and the work you carry out. Identify and escalate risks in an appropriate and timely manner.
